Supporting Children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) in the Early Years

This course looks at ways for Parents, Carers, Early year Practitioners, Foundation Stage teachers and other professionals to support children with SLCN within the Early Years.

Course Content: 

  • The course looks at ways to support children with SLCN within the Early Years
  • It discusses different types of SLCN and ways to create an inclusive and supportive, emotional and physical environment
  • It signposts to resources and websites that may help develop children’s speech, language and communication
  • It gives practical support strategies that can be used in a range of settings

Course Outcomes: 

  • To develop practitioners understanding of different types of SLCN
  • Ensure practitioners are aware of strategies to support children’s confidence within speech, language and communication
  • To signpost to resources and websites that may support children’s speech, language and communication

Course admin:

  • This is a Whole day or Two half days course.
  • Maximum number of attendees is 30.
