Half day. The session on child development will encompass considering the importance of understanding developmental expectations for all children, from 0-5. It will also consider the themes and principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and link these with early childhood theory to support a greater understanding of how best to support early childhood development and learning.
Full day. The session will look more closely at the key childhood development theories and link them with the Prime Areas of the EYFS and explore how understanding the Characteristics of Effective learning alongside child development can enable practitioners to scaffold opportunities and experiences to promote development and learning.
The session will be supported by a range of materials including Development Matters and the updated Developmental Journal from Early Support.
